Social media posts have commemorated the killings one year ago of Asian American women in Atlanta. As I reflect on this and the violence experienced by so many Asian American, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, and many other communities in these past couple of years, I continue to search for solutions. I am inspired by my research partner, Dr. John Chin, at Hunter College, who wrote an insightful and compelling essay in 2021 on the community-based research we have done in partnership with APAIT/SSG in Los Angeles and APICHA health center in New York, entitled "A Willing Blindness: Race, Gender, and Class in the Atlanta Spa Killings". It's worth a few minutes of your day.
